1.     ఇది ఎందుకు అనుమతించబడుతోంది అని దేవుణ్ణి ప్రశ్నించడానికి ప్రయత్నించవద్దు.

గత కాలంలో మీ పట్ల ఆయనకున్న ప్రేమకు, శ్రద్ధకు కృతజ్ఞతలు చెప్పండి (కీర్తన 103: 2). సర్వశక్తిమంతుడు మరియు సర్వజ్ఞుడు దేవుణ్ణి ప్రశ్నించడం మానేయండి (యెషయా 45: 9-12). దేవుడు సార్వభౌమాధికారి అని మనం గుర్తించాలి. ఆయన మనకు ప్రతిదీ వెల్లడించాల్సిన అవసరం లేదు. అంతేకాక, మనం తెలుసుకోవలసిన అవసరం లేదు. మనం నిశ్చలంగా ఉండి ఆయన దేవుడని గుర్తించండి.

2.     ఇది దుష్టత్వంపై దేవుని తీర్పు అని తేల్చకండి.

దేవుడు ప్రపంచాన్ని ఎంతగానో ప్రేమించాడని గుర్తుంచుకోండి (యోహాను 3:16). అతను మనిషిలా ఆలోచించడు మరియు స్పందించడు (హూషేయ 11: 9). పాపం మరియు దుష్టత్వం పట్ల మన వ్యక్తిగత కోపాన్ని మన తీర్పును ప్రభావితం చేయనివ్వకండి.  మానవజాతి పట్ల దేవుని కృప ఇంకా ముగియలేదని గుర్తుంచుకోండి. 

3. సంక్షోభం ద్వారా దేవుడు తన పిల్లలను శుద్ధి చేస్తున్నాడని మరియు క్రమశిక్షణ చేస్తున్నాడని అనుకోకండి.

తన పిల్లలపై అనారోగ్యం మరియు వ్యాధిని తీసుకురావడంలో దేవునికి ఆనందం లేదు. తన పిల్లల కోసం సిలువపై చనిపోయేలా దేవుడు తన కుమారుడైన యేసుక్రీస్తును పంపాడు. అతని గాయాల ద్వారా మనం స్వస్థత పొందుతున్నాము. 4. మానవజాతి పట్ల దేవుని  ప్రణాళికలను అంచనా వేయడానికి ప్రయత్నించవద్దు.

దేవుని ఆలోచనలు మీ ఆలోచనలు వంటివి కావు మరియు దేవుని మార్గాలు మీ మార్గాలు వంటివి కావు అనే వాస్తవాన్ని అంగీకరించండి. ఆయన మార్గాలు మీ మార్గాల కన్నా, ఆయన ఆలోచనలు మీ ఆలోచనల కన్నా గొప్పవి (యెషయా 55: 8-9).   దేవుని ప్రణాళికలు ఎలా మరియు ఎందుకు అని మనకు  తెలియదు. ఎవరూ నశించకూడదనేది దేవుని చిత్తం. మనందరికీ నిత్యజీవము ఇవ్వాలని  ఆయన కోరుకుంటాడు. అందరూ రక్షింపబడటానికి అతను చాచిన  చేతులతో వేచి ఉన్నాడు.

5.   మీ చుట్టూ మీరు చూస్తున్న బాధలవల్ల  మానసికంగా కదిలించబడవద్దు.

సహాయము చేయుటకు దేవుని హస్తము కురుచు కాలేదు; వినుటకు ఆయన చెవి మందం కాలేదు  (యెషయా 59: 1). అతను చూస్తున్నాడు మరియు అతనికి ప్రతిదీ తెలుసు. మీ చుట్టూ ఉన్న బాధలను బట్టి  మిమ్మల్ని లేదా ఎవరినీ నిందించవద్దు. మనమందరం ఎల్లప్పుడూ పేదవారిపట్ల  దయతో స్పందించాలి; మహమ్మారి సమయంలో మాత్రమే కాదు.

6. తరువాత ఏమి జరుగుతుందోనని చింతించకండి.

మీరు ఆందోళన చెందుతున్నప్పుడు, దేవుడు బాధ్యత వహించలేదని మీరు చెబుతున్నారు. మీరు భయపడినప్పుడు, దేవుడు మీతో లేడని చెబుతున్నారు.   దేనికోసం జాగ్రత్తగా పడవద్దని మనకు  చెప్పబడింది. భయపడవద్దని మనకు  చెప్పబడింది. ప్రతి రాత్రి తరువాత పగటిపూట ఉంటుంది. కాబట్టి, ధైర్యం తీచ్చుకోండి; ఆయన మనల్ని దీని నుండి బయటకు తీసుకువస్తాడు.

7. ప్రస్తుత పరిస్థితిని విశ్లేషించడానికి మీ సమయం మరియు ఆలోచనలను వృథా చేయవద్దు.

a.  దేవుని వాగ్దానాలను ధ్యానించండి.

b. యిర్మీయా 29:11 ను అనుసరించండి.

d. మీ సమయం మరియు ఆలోచనలను భవిష్యత్తుపై పెట్టుబడి పెట్టండి.

e. మీరు మీ జీవితంలో చేయాలనుకుంటున్న మార్పుల గురించి ఆలోచించండి.

f. మీ పరిచర్యలో మీరు చేయాలనుకుంటున్న మార్పుల గురించి ఆలోచించండి.

g. మీ జీవితంలో తదుపరి దశ కోసం ప్రార్థించండి మరియు అతని సలహా తీసుకోండి.

LAW versus GRACE

The law was GIVEN by Moses.

Grace and Truth CAME from Jesus Christ.

(John 1:17)

The law was given by Moses and this giving can be done even from a distance.

The truth came from Jesus Christ and the coming had to be done in person.

The Law was given through a servant - Moses.

But Grace came with the Son of God – Jesus Christ.

In the above passage, we can clearly notice the personal nature and superiority of Grace over the Law.

Grace teaches about who God is. 

Grace reveals the love and mercy of God towards man.

Grace is unmerited favor.

Grace is free and not earned.

Grace makes us the righteousness of God in Christ (2 Corinth 5:21).

Grace condemns sin (Rom 8:3).

Under grace our sins are forgotten and remembered no more.

The Law teaches what man should do. 

The Law is a rule book of do’s and don’ts.

The Law reveals the penalty for not keeping it.

The Law expects man to keep ALL the commandments to become righteous. 

The Law says – break one, broke all.

The Law condemns the sinner.

Under the law, sin is remembered until the third and fourth generations.

But in today’s church we see a mixture of law and grace being taught and preached.

We preach grace in order to get people saved and then apply the law to keep them saved. 

Paul admonishes in Gal 3:3 – “Are ye so foolish? Having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh?”

Remember, new wine (Grace) cannot be put in old wineskins (Law).  The new wine will ferment and swell; it will inflate the old wineskin which is already hard and brittle and then burst open.  The wine and the wineskin will go to waste.

If the law could save us then there is no need for Jesus Christ to die for us.  The law reveals sin but grace rescues from sin.  Jesus Christ FULFILLED the law by taking the full punishment for transgression of the law.

We are saved by grace (unmerited favor) through faith;  Not by works.

ప్రభువు మనలను కష్టాల నుండి విడిపించుకోవటానికి ఇష్టపడడు అని చెప్పే అనేక తప్పుడు బోధలు ఉన్నాయి. మీరు సరిగ్గా విశ్వసించినప్పుడు, మీరు సరిగ్గా జీవిస్తారు మరియు మీరు సరైన అనుభవాన్ని పొందుతారు. భగవంతుని గురించి మంచి అభిప్రాయం కలిగి ఉండండి.

పరిశుద్ధాత్మను సత్య ఆత్మ అని పిలుస్తారు. దేవుని దృష్టిలో మన పాపాలన్నీ యేసు చేత దూరంగా ఉంచబడ్డాయి. జీవితాన్ని విమోచించిన ఆనందంతో మరియు జీవించడానికి బదులుగా కొంతమంది విశ్వాసులు వారు రక్షింపబడని విధంగా ఓడిపోయిన జీవితాన్ని గడుపుతారు.

యేసు క్రీస్తు బలి ఒక్కసారిగా పాపానికి శిక్షను చెల్లించింది. దేవుడు ఇకపై మన పాపాలను బట్టి మనతో వ్యవహరించడం లేదు. మన జీవితంలో ఇంకా కొన్ని పాపాల వల్ల ఆయన మన నుండి ఆశీర్వాదాలను నిలిపివేయడం లేదు.  మేము ఆ అబద్ధాన్ని విశ్వసించడం మరియు దానిలా ప్రవర్తించడం ప్రారంభించినప్పుడు, మనం నిజంగా అబద్ధంలో జీవిస్తున్నాము మరియు పరిశుద్ధాత్మ దానికి సాక్ష్యమివ్వదు.

మీరు ప్రస్తుతం ఉన్న ఇబ్బందుల గురించి సరైన నమ్మకం కలిగి ఉండండి. మీరు ప్రస్తుతం ఉన్న ఇబ్బందుల గురించి సరైన నమ్మకం కలిగి ఉండండి. ప్రభువు మిమ్మల్ని విడిపించాలనుకుంటున్నాడని తెలుసుకోండి. ఆ ఇబ్బంది అవిధేయుడైన పిల్లవాడు, దీర్ఘకాలిక వైద్య పరిస్థితి లేదా వైవాహిక సమస్య కావచ్చు. దేవుడు తన మాటలో మీకు వాగ్దానం చేసాడు. ప్రతిరోజూ ఆయన వాగ్దానాలను నమ్మడం మరియు ప్రార్థించడం నేర్చుకుందాం.

3.  ప్రభువు మీ కష్టాల నుండి మిమ్మల్ని విడిపిస్తాడు

ఆసియాలో మాకు వచ్చిన మా కష్టాల గురించి మీరు అజ్ఞానులుగా ఉండాలని మేము కోరుకోము: మేము కొలతలకు మించి, బలం కంటే ఎక్కువ భారం పడ్డాము, తద్వారా మేము జీవితాన్ని కూడా నిరాశపరిచాము. అవును, మనలో మనకు మరణ శిక్ష ఉంది, మన మీద నమ్మకం ఉంచకూడదు, కాని చనిపోయినవారిని లేవనెత్తిన దేవుడు, మనల్ని ఇంత గొప్ప మరణం నుండి విడిపించి, మనలను విడిపించేవాడు; ఆయన మనలను ఇంకా రక్షిస్తాడని మేము విశ్వసిస్తున్నాము - 2 కొరింథీ 1: 8-10

4. మీ కష్టాల తరువాత దేవుని పునరుద్ధరణను పొందాలని ఆశిచండి.

ప్రపంచం తన ప్రజలను ప్రేమించే దేవుడి కోసం చూస్తోంది. తన ప్రజలను ప్రేమించే దేవుడు. ఇది ప్రజలను తన వైపుకు ఆకర్షిస్తుంది. వారు కోపంగా ఉన్న దేవుడి వద్దకు రారు.

మేము తీర్పు యుగంలో లేము - మేము దయ యొక్క యుగంలో ఉన్నాము. యేసు రక్షించడానికి మరియు నయం చేయడానికి వచ్చాడు.

యెహోవా యోసేపుతో ఉన్నట్లు అన్యజనుల రాజు ఫరో చూడగలిగాడు. యోసేపు చేసినదంతా అభివృద్ధి చెందింది. (ఆధి 39: 2-6)

SEVEN DO’S AND DON’TS DURING A CRISIS

    1.        Don’t try to question God about why this is being allowed.

Do be thankful for His care and concern towards you in times past which have enabled you to see this day (Ps 103:2).  And stop questioning the Almighty and All-knowing God (Isa 45:9-12).  We need to recognize that God is sovereign and that He does not need to disclose everything to us.  Moreover, we don’t need to know.  Let us be still and know that He is God. 

    2.      Don’t be quick to conclude that this is God’s judgment on wickedness.

Do remember that God so loved the world (Jn 3:16).  He doesn’t think and react like man (Hos 11:9).  Let us not allow our personal anger towards sin and wickedness affect our judgment.  Remember, God’s grace towards mankind is not expired yet.  

    3.      Don’t just presume that God is purifying and disciplining His children.

Do realize that God has no pleasure in bringing sickness and disease upon His children for whom He sent his son Jesus Christ to die on the cross and by whose stripes we are/were healed (Isa 53:5, 1 Pet 2:24).  God’s discipline involves teaching and training; it is not intended to destroy and kill.

    4.      Don’t attempt to assess God and His plans towards mankind.

Do accept the fact that God’s thoughts are not your thoughts and God’s ways are not your ways; because His ways are higher than your ways and His thoughts than your thoughts (Isa 55:8-9).  We don’t have to know the how and why of God’s plans.  It would be enough to know that a loving God would not wish any to perish but have everlasting life.  He is waiting with open arms for all to be saved.

    5.      Don’t be shaken emotionally by the suffering that you are seeing around you.

Do understand that God’s hand is not shortened that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear (Isa 59:1).  He sees and knows everything.  Don’t stress yourself or even blame yourself or anyone for the suffering around you.  We are always supposed to respond to the needy with kindness; not just during pandemics.

    6.      Don’t worry about what might happen next.

Worry is an indirect way of saying that God is not in control; fear is another way of saying that God is not with you. We are told not to be careful for anything.  We are told not to fear.  Every night is followed by daylight.  So, take courage; He will see us through.

    7.      Don’t waste your time and thoughts trying to analyze the present situation.

 a.    Do meditate on the promises of God.

b.    God promises that “……. His thoughts of peace……….will give an expected end” (Jer 29:11).

c.    Remember, it is God’s will that you are not only prospering in your soul, but that you are prospering in every other area including your health (3 John 2).

d.    Do invest your time and thoughts on the future. 

e.    Think about the changes you would like to make to your life.

f.     Think about the changes you would like to make to your ministry.

g.    Pray and seek His counsel for the next phase in your life.

CONCLUSION:

Let us look beyond the clouds like the eagle.  Let us take the stormy wind in, to take us higher.  Let us be as eagles waiting for that new day.  Let us be farsighted.

Rom 8:31 - What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?

Rom 8:32 - He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?

Rom 8:33 - Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God’s elect? It is God that justifieth.

Rom 8:34 - Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.

Rom 8:35 - Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?

DISUNITY - A malady plaguing the Church

                         

“For THIS CAUSE many are weak and sickly among you, and many sleep.” -                      

1 Corinthians 11:30 KJV 

We should elaborate on 1 Cor 11:17-34 to fully comprehend the cause. 

“Now, on this next matter, I wish I could commend you, but I cannot because when you meet together as a church family it is doing more harm than good! 

God’s people assembling together should have been a commendable thing but not so. God’s people meeting together is causing much harm to the Body of Christ. Because the main purpose of gathering together is not being fulfilled, they are being counterproductive. They are not behaving as ‘one family’ and members of the ‘one body’. 

I’ve been told many times that when you meet as a congregation, divisions and cliques emerge—and to some extent, this doesn’t surprise me. 

Differences of opinion and variations in thought are expected from thinking and intelligent people.  But such differences should be brought to the table, and by preferring one another in a spirit of brotherly love be sorted out to establish common ground.

Everyone receives varying degrees of revelation; therefore those that think they have received more light should be considerate towards those that aren’t as illuminated. They need to be patient with one another.

Personal preferences too, play a major role in causing strife and divisiveness, which have to be avoided.

Judging one another has become commonplace. But judge not lest you be judged. Judging someone before time is like hanging someone without a trial.

Any issue can be resolved through patience and God’s love and any kind of difference can be smoothed out unless those issues and differences are rooted in heresy or ungodliness.

In any case, despite doctrinal beliefs and practices, those that believe Jesus is the Christ should belong to one another as one family (1 John 5:1). And every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of (belongs) God (1 John 4:2). 

Differences of opinion are unavoidable, yet they will reveal which ones among you truly have God’s approval. 

Free expression of thoughts and opinions reveal character. Some would be lenient, others would be strict, some would be moderate, and others would be silent. Your expressions reveal which attitude you submit to. 

When all of your house churches gather as one church family, you are not really properly celebrating the Lord’s Supper. 

The Lord’s Supper was meant to be a common meal shared by church members to express oneness, fraternity, love, and with a sense of belonging to ONE body. It is clear that believers gathered in each other’s homes for fellowship and prayer daily, but once a week or so they would congregate as one church family to celebrate the Lord’s Supper. 

For when it comes time to eat, some gobble down their food before anything is given to others—one is left hungry while others become drunk! 

It was customary to share meals and eat together. But there was utter selfishness being shown because some of them were partaking of the available food without considering everyone else that was there. It was like a ‘first come - first served buffet’. Love had little place. They didn’t consider each other as members of the same body (family). The body of Christ which they were all part of was being despised. 

Don’t you all have homes where you can eat and drink? Don’t you realize that you’re showing a superior attitude by humiliating those who have nothing? 

There were those that were trying to assert their superiority by humiliating those that did not have enough to eat. There were competitive and didn’t care for each other. They didn’t mind humiliating one another. They didn’t consider each other as members of the same body. The body of Christ which they were all part of was being despised. Oneness and Unity were missing. 

Are you trying to show contempt for God’s beloved church)? How should I address this appropriately? If you’re looking for my approval, you won’t find it! 

They were showing disdain for the functional purpose of the Body of Christ.  This is clearly indicating the absence of love, care, and consideration for one another. Paul is pointing out their dislike or disrespect for one another, as disrespect for the body of Christ.  God who knows the hearts and intents of all people has the prerogative to choose whosoever He desires to be part of His body.  We cannot decide who will be or deserves to be part of the Body of Christ.  Jesus Christ said, “No one comes to me except those that are drawn towards me by the Father.”  And everyone who is part of this Body is obligated to accept and love each other since we are all received by the Father.  We are all distinct members of the same body and although our functions might differ, (some honorable and some dishonorable) we can by no means either look up to or down at other members, lest we feel humiliated or proud by any of them. Each of us is endowed with specific gifting and functions, so we need to mutually respect and honor one another, so that love might reign supreme. Can the hand that got injured in a fall, blame the leg for tripping over? Can the right hand hate the left hand because it is not equally able? Paul rightly instructed us to submit to one another, love one another, and prefer one another. The second commandment should be called to attention. Let love reign. 

I have handed down to you what came to me by direct revelation from the Lord himself. The same night in which he was handed over, he took bread and gave thanks. Then he distributed it to the disciples and said, “Take it and eat your fill. It is my body, which is given to you. Do this to remember me.” 

As an apostle to the Gentiles, Paul claims to have received a direct revelation from the Lord on this issue. The main purpose of breaking bread was to remember Him. He was given a body that was suitably prepared for the perfect sacrifice and He gave it for us so that we may become like it. (“So when Jesus the Messiah came into the world he said, “Since your ultimate desire was not another animal sacrifice, you have clothed me with a body that I might offer myself instead!”) - Hebrews 10:5 TPT.  This body of mine I give to you so that you all become one body like my body.  Jesus Christ is the head and we are the Body, as members of the same body, we belong to each other.  Jesus Christ had even prayed in John 17 that we all remain one with Him just as He was with the Father.  Unity has always been closest to God’s heart. 

He did the same with the cup of wine after supper and said, “This cup seals the new covenant with my blood. Drink it—and whenever you drink this, do it to remember me.” Whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup, you are retelling the story, proclaiming our Lord’s death until he comes. 

Whenever we eat the bread and drink the wine, we are reminding each other of the purpose of His death which is to bring us together as ONE BODY. But if we are partaking of the bread and wine as elements only, then we are not discerning (viewing it in the right perspective) the Body of Christ rightly. 

For this reason, whoever eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in the wrong spirit will be guilty of dishonoring the body and blood of the Lord. So let each individual first evaluate his own attitude and only then eat the bread and drink the cup. 

Therefore, eating and drinking together with hearts filled with strife and division (wrong spirit) is dishonoring the body and blood of the Lord. So, every individual is asked to self-evaluate his own attitude towards one another. 

For continually eating and drinking with a wrong spirit will bring judgment upon yourself by not recognizing the body. This insensitivity is why many of you are weak, chronically ill, and some even dying. 

Therefore, continuously eating and drinking without the spirit of unity will bring judgment upon the church, and the body of Christ and because of this kind of insensitivity many of you are weak, ill, and even dying. Not recognizing the body is nothing but being judgmental about other members and not recognizing their value as vital parts of the Body. Not recognizing the body is nothing but condemning other members of the Body by our standards. Not recognizing the body is nothing but destructive criticizing of other members of the Body. 

If you do not sit in judgment of others, you will avoid judgment yourself. 

Therefore, do not keep judging others before time; in doing so, you will avoid being judged yourself. This concluding verse explains all of the above. Whom we judge today may mend his ways the next day. Raising an accusation against someone that is acquitted makes us the accused; therefore do not judge. 

But when we are judged, it is the Lord’s training so that we will not be condemned along with the world. 

And when we do get judged because of our insensitivities, it is to train us, teach us, and correct us; so that we do not get condemned along with the world. Our judgment is distinct from that of the world. Our judgment or correction seems to precede the judgment of the world. Remember judgment comes first, to the house of God. There is no wastage in God’s economy. 

So then, my fellow believers, when you assemble as one to share a meal, show respect for one another and wait for all to be served. If you are that hungry eat at home first, so that when you gather together you will not bring judgment upon yourself. 

Show respect for one another and wait for one another. 

Maintain a spirit of unity. 

Honor the Body of Christ. 

No one is more important than the other. 

We are all important to our Master. 

Do the above and the Body will be healthy and so will you. 

When I come to you, I will answer the other questions you asked me in your letter.” 

Conclusion: 

I would like for us to see the present plague and those before this as a consequence of the earth being under a curse. And the only force (the Body of Christ) that has delegated authority to bring deliverance to it, is incapacitated due to a lack of cohesion within itself. 

Let this observation serve as a ‘call to unity’ among Christians, who by definition are “whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God.” - 1 John 4:15 KJV and “everyone who believes that Jesus is the Messiah is God’s spiritual child and has been fathered by God himself. And everyone who loves Father God loves his children as well.” -  1 John 5:1. 

Let us define a Christian according to God’s Word not according to our own standards.

It would make perfect sense to continue reading Chapter 12 & 13 which explain the importance of the One Body of Christ and the indispensability of unconditional love for one another because there’s coming a day when all gifting will cease and make way to a ‘more excellent way’.

CHRISTIAN LOVE - Redefined?

Love is often considered that mushy thing. 

    It is misunderstood for generosity. 

        It is the defined as the superlative of ‘like’.

            It is also seen as attraction or infatuation.

                 It is described as an extreme desire for something or someone.

But ‘real love’ comes from God and is beyond anything that normal people can ever imagine.  We need to be ‘born again’ by the spirit of God in order to comprehend the God kind of love.  Real love is not an emotion, it is character.  We can truly love only when we are fully aligned with the love of God.

1.         God’s love is born out of true light:

God is light and in Him is no darkness (1 John 1:5)_.  Light shines in darkness.  Light casts no shadows of darkness.  When there is complete light, it exposes everything.  Nothing is hidden in its presence.  God is that true light.  The light that reveals all that is concealed.  He does not have to assume or guess.  He knows everything about everything. 

Yet He loves everyone with an unfailing love that is totally unbiased and has no partiality.  His unconditional love is birthed in His knowledge of everything about everybody.  Because God sees and knows all things, He is able to bear all things, believe all things, endure all things and hope in all things which are the essence of ‘true love’ (1 Corinthians 13).  Hence, true light produces true love.

Similarly, we too who are called to fellowship with the Light (God) ought to be unbiased and impartial.  Imagine two friends in a room with God and His full light shining on them.  Both of them are able to see each other clearly.  They are able to see their shortcomings, failures, and weaknesses.  Both of them realize that God still loves them.  This realization helps them to love one another.  If we are in the light as He is in the light, then we have fellowship one with another and the blood of Jesus Christ cleanses us from all sin.

We should consider ourselves as being able to see as God sees and this will help us to be empathetic towards all people.  We will then be kind, patient, without envy, bearing all things, believing all things, enduring all things and hoping in all things (1 Corinthians 13).  We can then love all people as God loves them, which will then result in true fellowship with one another.

Again, a new commandment (to love one another) I write unto you, which thing is true in him and in you: because the darkness is past, and the true light now shineth   (1 John 2:8)

The commandment that was from the beginning comes as a new commandment.  Darkness is perhaps the law and the true light is grace which comes through our Lord Jesus Christ who was grace personified.

The law said, ‘an eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth’.

But grace said, “Whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also”.

Therefore, if we claim to be in the light (grace) and hate our brother; we are in darkness (law).

Apostle James affirms this when he says, “a blessing and a curse cannot come out of the same mouth, or a fountain cannot give out sweet water and bitter water or a fig tree cannot bear olive berries or vine cannot bear figs or a fountain cannot give out salt water and fresh water” (James 3:10-12).

And if we love our brother, we are in the light and we shall not stumble.

But if hate our brother, we are in darkness and we will not know where we are going.

2.         God’s love is unbiased and impartial:

God makes his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust.  His love is the same towards all men.

If we love people who are nice to us, that is considered normal.  But if we love those people who are not nice to us that is considered special. We are encouraged to love all without preference.  This will make us perfect just as our Father in heaven is perfect.  Unconditional love is a mark of perfection (Matt 5:45-48).

3.         God’s love covers a multitude of sins (1 Peter 4:8)

God’s love towards His Son Jesus Christ enables Him to see us forgiven.  When Jesus Christ gave His life for us, God accepted the sacrifice of His Son thereby He is able to acquit us of our sins. He accepts us in His beloved (Eph 1:6)

In the same way, we too who walk in the light and have true fellowship with God is able to walk in forgiveness and pardon towards others.  Our life of forgiveness towards others prompts God to cleanse us from all sin through the blood of Jesus Christ.

The forgiveness for ‘our sins’ is directly dependent on our forgiveness of the ‘sins of others’.

“For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses” - (Matt 6:14-15).

Even the Lord’s Prayer affirms this in saying, “And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors” – (Matt 6:12).

4.         God’s love is perfected in those that keep God’s Word:

But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him – 1 Jn 2:5

Keeping God’s Word simply means obeying His commandment which is to love one another.  We are told that no new commandment is being given except the one that was given in the beginning (1 Jn 2:7).

“For this is the message that ye heard from the beginning, that we should love one another.

Not as Cain, who was of that wicked one, and slew his brother.

And wherefore slew he him? Because his own works were evil, and

his brother’s righteous.”  (1 John 3:11-12.)

WHO IS A CHRISTIAN?

There is only one kind of Christian in the sight of God.  
It is we who have created different kinds of Christians namely, Nominal or Namesake Christians, Carnal Christians, Spiritual Christians, Spirit Filled Christians, Worldly Christians, etc. 

WHY ARE WE CREATING THESE DIVISIONS WITHIN OURSELVES?

Why have we done this? 

Because when we begin to see things differently, we would like to convince ourselves that, ‘only we’ are right.  Others who don’t see things like us are then considered wrong.  This is pride and self conceit.    

Who are we trying to impress? 

We are trying to impress people around us and of course we want to impress ourselves too.  We want to be distinguished for what we believe and that is precisely why we create names and groups that describe ourselves rather than the Lord.

What are we intending to accomplish? 

We want to establish our own Kingdom.  And we want to believe that we are that ‘little flock’ to whom the Lord desires to give the kingdom; nothing could be further from the truth.

Where are we trying to go? 

Our destination is unknown.  We are like the blind leading the blind wherein both will fall in the ditch.  A divided body will accomplish nothing.

When will we realize that we are wrong?

At the Final Judgment when we see that God ‘alone’ is the Judge.

Premature judgment can be very disappointing.  Accusing the acquitted makes us the accused.

  

The Word of God defines a Christian as follows:

1.         Any person who believes that Jesus is the Messiah.

“Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Messiah is God’s spiritual child and has been fathered by God himself. And everyone who loves Father God loves his children as well.” - 1 John 5:1 TPT

2.         Any person that confesses that Jesus Christ came in the flesh.

“Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God:  - 1 John 4:2 KJV

3.         Any person that confesses that Jesus Christ is the son of God.

“Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God.” - 1 John 4:15 KJV

4.         Any person that is prompted by the spirit of God to confess Jesus as Lord.

“Wherefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking by the Spirit of God calls Jesus accursed: and that no man can say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Ghost.” - 1 Corinthians 12:3 KJV

5.         Any person that believes on the name of the Son of God.

“These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.” - 1 John 5:13

6.         Any person that confesses Jesus as Lord.

“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved” – Rom 10:9

7.         Any person that receives (acknowledges) Jesus Christ.

“But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God” – John 1:12

8.         Any person that is born again.

“Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God” – John 3:5

9.         Any person that believes in Jesus Christ.

“That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life” – John 3:16

“He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God” – John 3:18

“He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him” – John 3:36

Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life. – John 6:47

“Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:” - John 11:25

“And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?” – John 11:26

“I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me

should not abide in darkness.” – John 12:26

“For the Father himself loveth you, because ye have loved me, and

have believed that I came out from God.” – John 16:27

“But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ,

the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his

name” – John 20:31

10.      Any person that believes that God sent Jesus Christ.

“Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.” – John 5:24

You can conduct a social experiment using the above 10 point scale and examine anyone that calls himself a Christian and I can guarantee that no one will fail in any of the above points.

In that case, why are we profiling Christians by our standards and measure?

How can we expect to be effective witnesses of Christ on earth while we are divided?

Our disassociating with other members of the Body of Christ is the reason we are standing powerless in this hour.

Remember, we are called to be the light of the world.

Remember, we are called to be the salt of the earth.

Remember, we are called to be in this world as He was in this world.

Remember, we are called to be His Body with all the capabilities of the Head, who is Christ.

Remember, we are called to do the things that Jesus Christ did and greater things.

We, Christians should come together in spirit and in truth.  We should have fervent love for one another and only then we will be able to see the power of God manifested through us.

Finally let us not judge anyone on our scale.  Let us not reject someone that God chooses to accept.  Let us not cause the Body of Christ to fragment.  Let us ask the Lord to enlarge our heart for His purposes.  Amen!
