Apostle Paul |
- An Overview -
The gospel that Paul preached – he received by revelation from the Lord Jesus Christ - Gal 1:11-12
- This gospel is - we are saved by faith and faith alone.
- This gospel is - we are saved by the covenant that God made with us.
- This gospel is - we are reconciled to God.
- This gospel is - we are adopted by God.
- This gospel is - we have a propitiator.
- This gospel is - we are redeemed.
- This gospel is - we are justified.
All of the above took place circa AD 29 on the cross on which Jesus Christ died. These acts of God apply to every person that acknowledges and accepts them. What a tremendous opportunity!
What would be our perspective, if we realized that mere faith on God1 who made a covenant with us2 to reconcile us to Him3, adopted us4 to be His children because of Jesus Christ our propitiator5 who redeemed us6 with His blood and justified us7 to be righteous?
We would have to joyfully conclude that we are deeply loved, highly favoured and greatly blessed by God our Father.
IF THIS ENTITLEMENT IS OURS WHO BELIEVE, IT CERTAINLY CAN BE THEIRS THAT ARE YET TO BELIEVE. NOW, THAT IS GOOD NEWS.
Let us resolve that when life returns to normalcy, we will carry this unparalleled good news to so-called believers and non-believers. Let us share this message urging them to receive what is theirs.
Is it good news to tell someone that they are going to hell if they don't believe or tell them that they can go to heaven if they believe? Unmerited, unearned and undeserved favour of God is hard to refuse.
Remember, in this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him. Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins – I John 4:9-10
